jean-jacques Piezanowski

Jean-Jacques Piezanowski is a French neo-expressionist painter born in 1952. First engaged in a fairly long classic period, he exhibited in France, Germany and Japan within the international figurative art society parallel to his activity engineer/researcher in steel industry. In recent years, it has increased to a more free, more "contemporary" expression, and devoted itself only to art. He expresses himself in a neo -expressionist register which greatly benefits from the technical solidity inherited from his classic past. The paper, which he then climbs on canvas, allows him great spontaneity in the gesture, and often with multiple overlays by collages from my works.
Interested mainly by the portrait, he seeks the expression of the human soul in a form of beauty, which wants to remain formal by being part of a certain singularity. He is regularly exposed in France, Germany, Switzerland and Poland.
Between painting and poetics, his work probe the human soul and the mark of passing time. His portraits and figures have elements of rupture, scars, fractures, traces of writing that are the marks of passing life. They carry the stigma of time, the gap between the projected, ideal life and the brutality of reality. Behind the mystery of his eyes, a sweetness and an interior beauty emerge. The eyes of his characters want to come to life like so many sparks of hope. His inks are clean and try to freeze an expression or an emotion in the spontaneity of the limpid, unique gesture. In order from this universe, the titles bring lightness, a touch of poetry and humor, the only ramparts to this sometimes violent universe. Like life !
