Curated by Rise Art
The Art Drop is a new series, created to give you an exclusive first look at new, never-before-seen works of art by leading emerging artists.
Art Drop 1 is the first in the The Art Drop series, showcasing new works from four artists on the platform. The artists included in the collection are all primarily painters, however their styles span from abstract to figurative. Hidetaka Suzuki, Fu Liang and Kate McCrickard have recently joined Rise Art, however Day Bowman has been on the platform for longer, and had two works included in the Satelittes exhibition.
Hidetaka Suzuki first joined the platform following his work in the Emergence exhibition. Hidetaka’s paintings explore the tension between fiction and reality, often forming realistic impressions of intriguing images. Day Bowman creates large scale abstract paintings that respond to coastal landscapes. Her gestural mark-making and natural palette captures the energy and movement of the seascapes she is drawn to. Kate McCrickard is a contemporary painter and printmaker based in Paris. The city, particularly the Belleville neighborhood informs much of her work as she depicts group gathering and interactions between her characters. Fu Liang works in watercolour, oils and mixed media. For the first Art Drop, he has created a series of portraits, characteristically shrouding his figures in an eerie mist.
