More Works by Tracy Nicholls
Tracy Nicholls
Tracy Nicholls is a British artist working in kiln formed glass. She currently works from her studio in London using predominantly opaque glass to create her intricate, sculptural pieces. Fascinated by erosion - of solid forms disintegrating over time, becoming ever more delicate and fragile while transforming into an absorbing lace like structure, she gravitates towards a simple monochrome colour palette, using light, shape and form to draw the viewer in.

In 2008 her Orphica triptych won ‘Best in Show’ at the British Glass Biennale and she has continued to exhibit extensively in both the UK and Europe. Exhibitions include Collect 2017, the International Glass Exhibition in Luxembourg, British Glass Biennale 2008, 2020, 2012 and 2022, Spring Break New York 2021 and the NGC Glass Prize 2021. In 2014 and 2022 her work was selected as a finalist in Europe’s prestigious Coburg Glass Prize in Germany.

Tracys’ glass work can be found in both private and public collections worldwide, these include the Dan Klein collection at the National Museum of Scotland and the Marinha Grande Museum of Glass in Portugal. Images of the work have been featured in several books and international publications.

In 2009 Tracy completed her MA in in Contemporary Craft – Glass, graduating with Distinction, from UCA Farnham, having discovered glass in 2003 at local evening classes.
