Bénédicte Klène

Bénédicte Klène lives in Brittany. A graduate of the art institute of Aix-en-Provence, with a degree in plastic arts, her work aims to be open and multifaceted (drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, small publishing, artist books).
For more than twenty years, paper and drawing have been at the heart of her creative process: as a chronicler of the ephemeral, she sketches the "Little Nothing" of everyday life as a journey of every moment, she quickly draws everything that catches her eye, this "unlimited wealth, everywhere, this immense unknown to run and discover" that she tracks in her graphic wanderings.
In the course of her travels, the breath of drawing carries her from Brittany to Vancouver, passing through the Atlantic islands, the great metropolises to the solitude of the Arctic, beyond the polar circle. She chooses and selects privileged viewpoints that give us the feeling of embracing the world with our gaze, of possessing it, even of getting lost in it and dissolving into it.
She has thus drawn an astonishing collection of panoramas that unfold in space in long LEPORELLOS where the experience of looking questions our relationship with memory, time, movement, the world, and the landscape.
Her works, exhibited in France and abroad, are present in public collections: Archives and City of Lorient, Auray, Rennes, 1% of the City Hall of Brest Europe, public commission from the CNAP, Departmental Media Library of Ille and Vilaine.
