More Works by Giovanni Gorini
Giovanni Gorini
Born in Lajatico (Pisa) in 1950, he began to paint in 1970. In 1972 he frequented the Institut d'Art and during this period, Pollock's painting and Gesture Art influenced him, to give his first "abstract" canvas.
Until 1975 he deepened this research phase to free himself from the traditional "figurative". He then discovered the work of Giuseppe Santomaso, and struck by poetics and especially by the "relationship with reality" of the work of this artist, He met him in Venice in 1976. After this meeting and those which will follow regularly, the creations of Gorini take a decisive orientation. He prints his first portfolio "Autoscistienza-Presenza" with a text by the writer and friend Francesco Paciscopi. He consolidates his "reality/nature" research during two trips one in the Puglia with the painter Alessandro Gamba, and the other in Greece. It was also the time of his first trip to Paris, where he settled in 1979. He participated in several collective exhibitions with a group of Italian artists, and he became friends with Riccardo Licata, holder of A workshop in the beautiful arts of Paris, which teaches him the mosaic, and Paolo Boni, painter and engraver, uncle of Mario Boni, printer in gentle size, which initiates it with engraving in several colors. He deepens this research attracted by the different print techniques of artists who frequent the Boni workshop, in particular Bertrand Dorny. In 1980 he printed his second portfolio "Voyage without monuments" accompanied by a text by Dino Carlesi (poet and critic 'Art) and will follow in 1984 "Terre Diometicate" and in 2002 "... Ai Segni della Terra". In 1981, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in the Gustavo Gustavi painting class. For his work to work Engraving he obtained the medal of the "City of Paris" of Bronze in 1982 and silver in 1984, and the second prize at the "Biennale du XV - Paris" in 2019. He is one of the artists of "Manifestampe".
"Nature and reality as a source of emotion and formal clues. The forms as the construction of space. Space as, like the main plastic manifestation of the conception of reality. »»
