Emergence was a group exhibition featuring the work by 20 artists, all new to our roster. Individually and together, the works on show can be thought of as an illustration of G. H. Lewes’ definition of emergence: the way that something new and significant comes about through the combination of unassuming parts.
The exhibition was curated from works submitted in an open call. The submission process was open to artists at any stage in their career, inviting all interpretations of the theme, 'Emergence'. Whether drawing on the idea of emerging from lockdown, or using the theme to reveal that which was hidden, the exhibition's title was deliberately broad; encouraging a creative response to our Open Call.
Emergence ran from 29th July – 17th September and the exhibition is now closed. The artworks that are still available and can be found here.
