The Newlyn Society of Artists (NSA) in Cornwall is celebrating 125 years of history with a landmark exhibition, ‘Past, Present, Future’ at Tremenheere Gallery near Penzance in Cornwall. Curated by Lisa Wright, award-winning artist and Senior Lecturer at Falmouth School of Art, the exhibition features painting, sculpture and digital artworks by current members that has been influenced by earlier members
The Society was founded 125 years ago in in 1896 by a group of artists who were innovative in several respects, including Stanhope Forbes, one of the best known and founding members.
One of Trudy Montgomery's abstract paintings has been selected for the exhibition. Shape Shifter is linked to the work of historical NSA member, Ithell Colquhoun.
