Thursday: The first plunge into Art Paris

At midday, the doors of the fair open, unveiling the vibrant atmosphere of Art Paris within the transformed Grand Palais. The first day provides an ideal opportunity to explore the fair before the weekend crowds arrive, giving you the chance to engage with gallery owners and discover your early favourites. Renowned names and emerging galleries mix seamlessly, with established institutions such as Almine Rech, Nathalie Obadia, Templon, and Lelong & Co, as well as 36% new exhibitors, including Sabrina Amrani (Madrid), Tang Contemporary (Beijing), and Waddington-Custot (London).

Art Paris is also defined by two major thematic exhibitions. Immortelle, curated by Amélie Adamo and Numa Hambursin, celebrates the power of figurative painting in France, bridging the generations of artists. Hors Limites, devised by Simon Lamunière, explores works that blur the boundaries of genre, culture, and history.

The exploration continues on the southern balconies of the Grand Palais, where the Promesses sector hosts 25 galleries, all under 10 years old, including 17 first-time exhibitors. This is a dynamic space for contemporary creation, providing a platform to discover artists who have yet to exhibit in France. Nearby, the 18 solo exhibitions within the Solo Show programme offer an in-depth look into the worlds of both established and emerging modern and contemporary artists.

After several hours of fascinating discovery, treat yourself to dinner in one of Paris’ inspiring settings. For a change of scene with a gourmet twist, La Pause Libanaise, located just a few minutes from the Grand Palais by public transport, offers delectable Lebanese cuisine at affordable prices in a warm and vibrant atmosphere.

For a truly unique experience, the Bus Toqué offers a dinner with one of the best views in Paris. This roving restaurant, starting in the Champs-Élysées district, presents a gastronomic journey through the capital, all within a Parisian café-inspired setting that blends Haussmannian elegance with modern touches.

Friday: A deeper look at the Arts

Before returning to the Grand Palais, begin your day with a relaxed coffee. Fringe Café in the Marais district is a favourite among photographers and coffee connoisseurs. Alternatively, for a spot closer to the fair, DS Café Franklin, a mere 10-minute walk away, serves healthy options perfect for a busy morning.

Back at Art Paris, the day is filled with the first conferences and prize-giving ceremonies, including the prestigious BNP Paribas Banque Privée Prize, which awards €40,000 to a living French artist. It’s also a good moment to reflect on your favourite works and explore the stand of the Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris Collections, which is presented for the first time this year. This public collection, comprising 23,500 works, provides a unique insight into the evolution of art in France since the late 19th century.

In the evening, head to Unplug, an immersive bar near Galeries Lafayette, where you can sip cocktails inspired by works featured at the fair. For a more intimate setting, Les Blancs Becs in Pigalle offers an exceptional selection of natural wines and signature cocktails.

Saturday: Conferences, performances, and off-site exhibitions

Saturdays at Art Paris are packed with guided tours, performances, and artist talks. It’s also a chance to attend one of the fair’s major events—the presentation of the Prix Her Art, organised by Marie Claire and Boucheron. This esteemed prize, awarded during a special evening at the Grand Palais, recognises a woman artist whose work challenges boundaries, with a €30,000 prize.

For an immersive experience, NEUMA: The Forgotten Ceremony, an installation designed by Sarah Brahim and Ugo Schiavi, transports visitors into a sensory world that blends sculpture and performance.

To end your day in style, consider dining at Sphère, located near the Champs-Élysées. Its elegant setting, inventive menu, and tranquil atmosphere provide the perfect end to an artistic day. For a more relaxed and arty ambiance, Hang'Art, on the banks of the Bassin de la Villette, offers a delightful dining experience surrounded by contemporary art.

Sunday: A last look before you go

Before bidding farewell to Paris, indulge in a final gourmet treat. Les Bariolés de Maud, located in the 9th arrondissement near the Musée Grévin and Place Vendôme, serves a colourful, fun brunch—ideal before a last stroll through the fair. For a more indulgent option, L'Atelier Saisonnier, also in the 9th and near the Opéra National, is an excellent choice for a filling, seasonal meal.

If time allows, don’t miss a final visit to the Centre Pompidou. Its major Suzanne Valadon retrospective, tracing her journey from bohemian muse to avant-garde artist, is a must-see before the museum closes for renovations until 2030.

For cinema lovers, the Cinémathèque française is hosting a special exhibition on Wes Anderson, showcasing costumes, sets, and props from his personal collection to offer a glimpse into his distinct visual world.
