Mark Andrew Webber

Mark, a graphic designer from Reading born in 1984, graduated from Falmouth University in Cornwall in 2008 with a degree in graphic design. In 2007, Mark started creating his popular Giant city linocut map series, which earned him recognition from the international society of typographic designers.

In 2006, Mark was commissioned to design the front cover of Crafts magazine, which involved carving the cover from linoleum, inking it and then photographing it. In his final year at Falmouth University, Mark won a silver cube from the Art Directors Club of New York and exhibited some of his prints in New York that same year. Mark's next major work was a linocut map of Paris, which went viral through various graphic design and art blogs. He subsequently displayed his artwork at the Affordable Art Fair in London and in various local and international design magazines, such as Blueprint Magazine.

Mark was asked to contribute a piece of work to MTV Re:Define in Dallas in 2014, an annual art auction that invites a select group of artists to contribute their work to raise money for the Michael Goss foundation. The piece took him two months to complete and was sold at auction by Phillips de Pury.

In the same year, Mark had his first solo exhibition, which was featured on the BBC and in various magazines as the work to watch. His opening night drew a crowd of 500 people, solidifying his growing reputation as an up-and-coming artist.
