Sophie Barut

By mastering the lost wax technique, Sophie Barut produces bronzes whose subjects are a reflection of her career. Between fragility, vital force and delicate balance of life, his works allow him to converge towards a form of Renaissance.
Works at the heart of his intimacy
Sophie Barut lives and works in Caluire, in the Rhône. Fascinated by bronze, the artist performs sculptures in partnership with the Adobati foundry.
His sculpted works are a reflection of fragility, disability, delicate balance of life, the vital force hidden in the bottom of each, the beauty of a face, the candor of a posture, of the friendship or love. These various predilection themes, tender and human, mark out his plastic work.
Make only one between professional and personal life
In 2018, Sophie Barut published a testimony book, the same year as her installation as a sculptor. This literary work, entitled "I will come back before night", pages pages from his newspaper written twenty years earlier, while her husband is the victim of a road accident, a few months after their marriage, which will clou it definitively in A wheelchair.
This year 2018 then marks for the sculptor the union of her intimate and professional life: indeed, her works present themselves as a reflection of her career, her life, the life of her children.
His sculptures thus illustrate the present moment, the sweetness of childhood and youth, freedom and inner peace.
You may have already noticed it, this bird that invites itself like a leitmotif in several of its sculptures, which marks this idea of freedom, and this feeling of no longer feeling alone.
