Monica Sarandrea

Sculptor of Italian origin, Monica Sarandrea creates works in personal research strongly linked to nature and its spiritual dimension.
From informal art to abstraction
Born in Rome, Monica Sarandrea has devoted herself since childhood to drawing and in particular to painting landscapes. After several stays in Paris from 2005 to 2010, she frequented the courses of the painter Alberto Parres with the Porta Blu Art School.
Monica Sarandrea worked on chromatic and gesture by gradually moving towards informal art and abstraction. From 2011, she devoted herself to sculpture by favoring materials such as stone, clay and plaster.
Make nature and its elements dialogue
Monica Sarandrea's works arise from dialogue with nature and its elements, in particular water and earth, intimately linked to the sacred feminine. This research evokes a certain biomorphism, halfway between the animal world and that of human beings.
Poetry, in particular French symbolism, play a crucial role among its sources of inspiration, at the same level as oriental philosophies imbued with animism.
