Luis Azemar

Luis Azemar, born in 1978 near Paris, transitioned from a 20-year career in music to focus on graphics, illustration, and painting. In 2019, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he delved deeper into his art, refining techniques. Azemar figuratively paints landscapes and architectures of the Careyes region in Mexico, emphasizing clean environments and shadow play. Influenced by a New York artist's perspective on Picasso and technology, Azemar merges digital and traditional painting in his works. His inspiration stems from travels, particularly to Careyes, where he captures memories and photographs. Azemar employs a mixed technique, starting digitally and transferring sketches to canvas for acrylic painting, creating a balance between modern and traditional methods. His art showcases the beauty of the Costalegre region and the architecture of Careyes, reflecting a harmonious blend of human construction and wilderness. Azemar prefers not to varnish his canvases, allowing them to maintain a raw material quality.
