More Works by Eric Bonte
Eric Bonte
Eric Bonte was born in Paris in 1956. After completing a scientific baccalaureate, he enrolled at the National School of Applied Arts and Crafts, Olivier de Serres, in Paris. The school provided a diverse curriculum that included drawing, painting, interior architecture, space design, advertising, as well as languages and literature. It was here that Bonte chose to specialize in stained glass, drawn to its endless possibilities in color and light. He was particularly attracted to the combination of artistic expression and technical craftsmanship.

Upon graduating in 1979, Bonte opened his own workshop in Issy-les-Moulineaux, seeing it as an opportunity to gain professional experience and embark on his artistic journey. Balancing his roles as both artist and business manager, he believed in giving himself the resources and freedom to create, enabling his art to flourish.

From 1979 to 1988, his studio, Eric Bonte Vitraux, was entrusted with numerous prestigious projects. These included works for the Plaza Athénée and the Hôtel Raphael in Paris, as well as the headquarters of Capgemini Sogeti. Bonte had the honor of working with renowned artists like Jean Bazaine, creating stained glass windows for St. Dié Cathedral in the Vosges and the Chapel of St. Guénolé in Penmarch. He also restored stained glass windows for the historic St. Séverin Church in Paris.

Throughout his career, Bonte has participated in numerous exhibitions showcasing his personal creations. As a painter, master glassmaker, and sculptor, he strives to combine the careful, thoughtful approach of a mature creator with the spontaneity of the moment, producing a unique and sensitive artistic synthesis. Through his work, Eric Bonte has made significant contributions to the development of stained glass as an art form.
