Patrick Simkins
A British artist, Patrick currently works from his studio in Paris.
Patrick's unique three-dimensional paintings are a true, contemporary homage to the Dutch masters of the Golden Age. By cutting up and collaging together a selection of his older paintings, he creates beautifully intricate still life paintings to talk about nature and rebirth.
In some paintings, Patrick's flowers come out 15cm from the surface of the canvas!
With his uncommon form of collage, Patrick also creates collaged portraits. These works are hung like paintings, framed, or even hung like a tapestry. Patrick’s collaged heads have been exhibited at the Lille Palais de Beaux Artes, alongside his "Three Heads" public interactive performance.
See Patrick's 'Studio Diary' section to watch videos moving around the 3D works to fully appreciate the detail that Patrick achieves.

Patrick's work is part of private collections around the world, notably the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, the US and Australia.
Group exhibitions include the London Contemporary Art Prize finalists' exhibition, ING Discerning Eye (an invited artist), the London Art Fair, and twice a finalist of the UK National Open Art competition.
Solo exhibitions include Galerie Espace, Paris; BBK Oldenburg Gallery, Germany; and Langton Street Gallery, London
Patrick has presented his interactive performances at venues such as the Lyric Theatre, London and the Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille, France.
