More Works by Valérie LE MEUR
Valérie LE MEUR
Valérie Le Meur was born in 1965 in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, and has been living and working in Gif-sur-Yvette, a Parisian suburb between city and countryside, since 2008. She trained with fine arts artists for over 10 years to perfect her technique.
She is known for her figurative urban landscapes with a cinematic atmosphere.
Born in a big city, her work reflects her fascination with the noisy and dizzying side of the city that hides great solitude.
This frenzy can be seen in her detailed paintings of architectures and cities.
This solitude is understood in her barely sketched characters, who are part of the decor.
The theater she practiced for ten years from her adolescence has a major influence on her painting, in the search for emotions, staging, and color.
Painting is a vector of emotions that she can practice alone in the calm of her studio, in her bubble. She can thus distance herself from the world to better understand and narrate it.
