François Cusson

Born in 1957, originally from Sables-d'Olonne, François Cusson has lived and worked in Paris since 1968. The Vendée countryside, his paths lined with trees and ditches full of flowers was his first master: Portraits of trees, Views of fields, hay grinds ... then Paris and its wonders: its churches, the Seine: portraits of bridges, quays, portraits of cafes.
François Cusson has a taste for rare days where pure light like crystal makes all things shine, where the contours are more lively, the colors more subtle. So he goes out outside to locate and sketch the subjects. And then in the workshop, burst the colors that ferment everywhere but rarely reveal themselves, grasp and decline them in multiple series, by expressing them more vigorously without distorting them.
