Airspace V is an abstract handwoven textile by Meghan Spielman, crafted from silk and cotton that has been ikat dyed with indigo and osage. The work is stretched over 1.5 inch deep stretcher bars, with the pattern wrapping fully around the edges. Soft transitions of blue, gold, and pale violet unfold across a grid of vertical and horizontal bands, blending the precision of weaving with the organic irregularities of dye. The composition balances clarity and fluidity, evoking air, light, and movement through an abstract language of color and form.
