PINTO

Pinto is a painter and sculptor artist. In sculpture, Pinto works various materials, noble or ordinary, to create sublimated works, bearers of history. His paintings respond to his sculptural works, which complement each other.
The Pinto artist exhibits mainly in France, Germany and Switzerland. In 2008, his works were presented during the Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Louvre Carrousel in Paris.
A revelation for the merger of materials
Pinto, his real name, Sergio Munoz, is a Chilean artist born in 1960 in the Valparaiso port city. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in his city of origin before going to France, in Strasbourg, to continue drawing lessons.
The sculpture was quickly a revelation for him. Indeed, the work of raw materials, such as wood, metal, leather, stone, but also the recovery elements, present themselves to him as a great source of artistic inspiration.
In love with the work of matter, Pinto does not abandon painting: his many paintings present themselves as mirrors of his sculptural works.
Pinto's works remind us of those of the Constantine Brancusi sculptor through their slender and refined forms.
An artist imbued with poetry
Poetry is an integral part of Pinto's work. It is most often the works of the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda who accompany him, inspire him and allow him to transcend matter.
Pinto considers poetry as major, first, original art, the one that inspires and where all other forms of artistic creations take place.
The artist wishes to attribute a story, a soul to these materials, by offering them the most beautiful patina effects, a practice which he almost considers initiation, magical.
