Virginie Bastié is a painter who graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris at Vladimir Velickovic's studio. - Artistic approach: Virginie Bastié uses reality as a starting point in her painting, but she gently slides it towards a dreamed and intuitive reality. She often starts with a photo or an idea as an anchor, then allows herself to be guided towards another reality that represents an inner journey. This subtle transformation gives birth to the imaginary from the initial image. Nature and timelessness are her favorite subjects in her work. She mixes figurative and abstract zones, playing with blur and sharpness to express the subtle frontier between her experience and her imagination. Virginie Bastié has also collaborated with various brands and institutions, including Kenzo New York, Le Bon Marché, Guerlain and YSL. Her wall murals and floor stencils have graced spaces such as Pierre Bergé's office at the Opéra Bastille.
