More Works by Dominique Damarzit
Dominique Damarzit
Born in Boulogne Billancourt on 12 September 1967, Dominique Damarzit lives and works in Avon, Seine et Marne. She is a self-taught artist influenced by the Flemish Primitives, Japanese prints and the works of the Viennese Secession (mainly Klimt). Painter and modeller working mainly in acrylic and Saint Amand stoneware Dominique Damarzit has been a professional artist since 2021. She works mainly with acrylics and has developed a technique that enables her to achieve a rendering that approaches that of oil without the disadvantages of drying time. The subjects she chooses are most often amusing or simply light-hearted; if they are more serious, a step back or a shift is made, through the title or the postures, which makes them accessible or bearable. This is not to deny the decorative character of her works, quite the contrary, the artist, who is fond of figurative subjects, never loses sight of the reality of painting, which is made up of shapes, colours and light, so much so that all painting can be considered abstract in fact; two things currently occupy her work: whites and folds; trying to capture their light and texture is a real source of joy.
