Jane Fairhurst is a multi disciplinary artist who started her career studying Fine art at Liverpool Art College in the early 1970’s.
Jane lives in Wigan and since 1999 has worked from her studio at Cross Street Arts, Standish. She studied for a Masters in Fine Art at John Moores University, Liverpool and in 2010 she gained an MFA with distinction.
Jane makes work in series and has used a multi-disciplinary approach to explore themes of environment, consumerism and the role of women in the human story. More recently she has focused on developing her painting skills using her own sculptural works, her home, its interior and surroundings, as her focus. Jane's themes and subject matter are dynamic and change as new connections surface across the body of work.
