Jacqueline Colley

Jacqueline Colley is an Illustrator and Pattern Designer based in East London. Her limited edition prints are inspired by all things travel, curiosity and colour.

Jacqueline Colley’s Education and Early Career

Jacqueline originally studied Graphic Design at Chelsea Art College, UAL, but soon realised that illustration had stolen her heart. Not long after graduating, she landed a job working for H&M on their textile design team. After six years working with various high street fashion brands, Jacqueline took the leap and became freelance full time. Since then, she has collaborated with various major brands including Oasis and the London Zoo, but now mainly focuses on private commissions and new products for her very own shop.

Style and Approach

Jacqueline describes her own style as feminine, playful and infused with colour. Botanical motifs feature widely in her work, as well as intricate boho-chic graphics and text such as in her floral print works like Love Is Power. Jacqueline's practice often begins with hand-drawn pen drawings, usually inspired by natural habitats and its wild inhabitants such as in water-based screen print Seoni Jungle, or urban jungles and cityscapes from her personal travels. She then digitally enhances her sketches before transforming them into silkscreen prints, riso prints, embroidered garments, cards, and most recently, GIFS!

Press and Collections

Her uplifting, polychromatic designs are stocked by Print Club London and Oliver Bonas, and she has designed stationary ranges for Ohh Deer and fabric collections for FIGO. Her works have also been featured in the likes of Marie Claire magazine and Home & Garden.
