Out And About With Rise Art
Artist Drinks Soiree
The highlight of this week had to be our first ever artist event on Wednesday. The team escaped the office early and wandered down to the Charterhouse Bar in Shoreditch to meet some of our local (and not-so-local) artists over a few summer drinks. It was a great chance for our artists to see the faces behind Rise Art and for us to catch up with the people who make our gallery what it is. Thanks to all who came, we're already looking forward to the next!
Art in Action, Waterperry Gardens
So we spent the beginning of this fleeting English heatwave exploring Waterperry Gardens in Oxford on the scout for more unique artists. We were really impressed by the talent (and it wasn't just the Pimms talking we promise). Art in Action is an annual art fair celebrating all art forms from jewellery making all the way to metal work and glass blowing and we've picked up some pretty exciting new talent so keep your eyes peeled.
Rise Art NEWS
Summer is notoriously known as the season for exhibitions, and our definitely artists haven't us down...
Alma Haser @ The Photographer's Gallery, London
Fast emerging photographic talent Alma Haser is currently exhibiting her new 'Cosmic Surgery' series at the prestigious Photographer's Gallery in London. There's plenty of hype surrounding this young, talented artist and we're lucky enough to have some of her early works on Rise Art that are well worth the investment.
Michelle Hold - Touch of Water @ Castello di Rapallo, Italy
Left: Questioning Reality
Right: Fragments of Illusion
Spiritual abstract artist Michelle Hold is taking part in a group show in Italy, featuring artworks inspired by 'the blood of the earth'. She informs us that Italy is of course, beautiful, and that it's almost too hot to be painting (oh to live the artist lifestyle...)
Hormazd Narielwalla - Lost Gardens @ Southbank Centre, London
Le Petit Echo de la Mode No.55
"Lost Gardens describes a visual journey that takes for its starting point the artist’s memories of the rose garden in Pune, India, an idyllic spot he would visit with his mother to choose their own roses, and watch the gardener cut and trim them. The garden represented a place of solace, contemplation, and unity between humans and nature."We know a stroll down to sunny Southbank is definitely on the cards for us this weekend. Free, beautiful artworks by a talented artist - get down and see them if you can!
New to Rise Art
Left: Walkers
Right: Blue
Fashion designer turned illustrator Marju Tammik creates minimal, limited edition prints from her original drawings. They're affordable, stylish, and look great in a black frame. You'll dress to impress every day with one of her works in your bedroom.
Wayne's large scale original paintings are contemporary, colourful delights. A tribute to Monet, his abstracted lily scenes and typographical works are irresistably playful - where would you hang a piece like this?
