Luis Medina is a Spanish artist who paints striking works that are minimalist in composition and expressive in colour. In his art, Luis aims to give visual form to feeling and sensation. By building up layer upon layer of acrylic on his canvases, the artist achieves rich and deep areas of colour. Luis has a knack for combining and contrasting different hues, and we find his more opposing combinations particularly effective.
Luis graduated from the La Vidriera School of Art in Spain and has won a number of prizes for painting in his home country.
The artist is represented by a number of galleries in Spain, where he has held more than thirty solo exhibitions. Several of Luis’s original artworks are in private collections in Spain, the US and the UK.
