Marko Humphrey-Lahti is a British born sculptor, producing works in a variety of materials, including stone, bronze, aluminium and composite metal and stone resins. His sculptures are influenced by an innate respect for nature and observations of human emotions; moving comfortably between representation and abstraction.
Marko first started sculpting on the Mediterranean island of Gozo, Malta and formally studied the practice at the University of Hertfordshire. He has exhibited frequently both in the UK and internationally, having shown with the Royal Society of Sculptors, Royal Society of British Artists and the National Society on many occasions. His sculptures have also been exhibited in Germany, Guernsey, Italy and USA.
In 2009 Marko was elected to the Royal Society of Sculptors and elected to the Cambridge Drawing Society in 2012. His sculptures have won international accolades, including the 2016/17 Brian Mercer Carving Residency in Italy. He was invited to exhibit at the International Art and Culture Biennale in Rome in 2018/19. Marko’s work is widely collected and can be found in both public and private collections in the UK, Europe, Australia, China, Malaysia, UAE and the USA.
