Curated by Cecile Martet
As early as the 15th Century, ‘afield’ was used to describe a place far from home. Art, like music, theatre, and memories, has the ability to transport us to faraway places. In this collection we have brought together work that not only shows various far-flung locations across the globe, but also work that instills that sense of wonder that travelling and imagining can bring.
From Claire Cansick’s Californian hillscapes at dusk, to the national parks of Slovenia, as depicted in Kelly Briggs’ impressionistic ink paintings, discover new paintings, prints and photography, and indulge in the escapism of our Further Afield collection.
