Curated by Cécile Martet
Springing forth from the Dark Ages and bursting onto the scene in its intellectual glory, the Renaissance spanned from the 14th to the 16th Century and is defined as the “rebirth” of art and culture. Spreading across Western Europe, it gave a platform to great Masters such as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi.
In this collection, our artists revisit masterpieces by prolific figures of the Renaissance. Though some works are more abstract or distinctly Renaissance-like than others, the modern touch brought to centuries-old subjects and styles is the Renaissance redefined in its own right.
