Naomi Yuki

Naomi Yuki creates visionary works exploring the essence of all things. Working at the intersection between figurative and abstract art, she unleashes her imagination through shapes and active forms. Working mainly with oil on canvas, she explores the shadows of humanity and the qualities of one’s soul, often painting the ineffable.

Naomi Yuki’s Early Career and Approach to Abstract

Although initially drawn to art at a young age after encountering installations by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Naomi did not pursue her passion until later in life. At thirty, Naomi moved to Florence to study Drawing before embarking on a four-year course at the Beaux-Arts Academy in Rome. In 2012, the artist participated in her first art fair, "Tagboat”, introducing her uniquely dynamic approach to contemporary abstraction, which she calls ‘Artwarp.’ Her multidimensional works, which aim to override common sense, are now regularly sought after by gallery owners and collectors worldwide.

Awards

Naomi won the 2007 Ventaglio Prize in Rome, Italy, and received special mentions at the 2011 Nihon Bungakukan Art Awards, Tokyo, Japan, and the 2014 Tokyo Art Navigation Prize, Tokyo, Japan. Other awards and selections include the 2015 ACT Art Award 3rd Prize, the 2015 UNKNOWN ASIA Qing-Yang Xiao Prize, and the 2018 Ikebukuro Art Gathering Awards Tokyo. The artist was also a finalist at the 2021 Arte Laguna Prize 15, won the 2022 FEI PURO ART AWARD, and continues to exhibit at private shows around the world.
