Florkey

Adept of bright colors, mixed techniques linked to street art, the artist Florkey produces colorful, pop and urban works, bubbling with meaning and symbols!
Street art plastic techniques at the heart of its creation
Born in Verviers (Belgium) in 1976, the artist Florkey was trained from an early age at the Academy of Fine Arts. His secondary studies are also oriented towards plastic arts.
In 1998, the artist graduated in graphics at the School of Higher Arts Saint-Luc Liège and the Academy of Fine Arts in Verviers. During this period of his career, Florkey already uses the airbrush.
During the 2000s, he discovered digital artistic work, which he mixed with traditional techniques, which is for him an important graphic revelation. Fascinated by color, Florkey continues to develop his art by experimenting with chromatic effects.
A 180 ° turn
Following the discovery of a brain tumor that turns his life upside down, the artist's artistic practice takes a 180 ° turn. He now defines his painting as "benevolent vandalism". He also manufactures his own supports based on recovery objects. Largely imbued with Street Art artistic practices, the artist continues to use aerosol for his creations, while integrating new graphic tools such as stencils and calligraphy techniques.
Pop artist engaged
Works on the varied supports of the artist Street Florkey are largely inspired by popular culture. Indeed, in his works with multiple subtle details, you can meet characters from popular cartoons such as Snoopy, Mickey Mouse, La Panther Rose or Caliméro ... but also characters of cult films such as Las Vegas Parano or a stencil From Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker!
Committed pop artist, his artistic expression is a reflection of our society. Florkey is particularly invested in charitable causes such as Down's syndrome, natural disasters, the precariousness of children as well as research against cancer. He also often participates in charity auctions!
Florkey continues collaborations and fresco projects in Belgium and France. He notably became ambassador of the Pebeo painting brand in Belgium after being noticed during an exhibition in Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre.
