More Works by Nina Urlichs
Nina Urlichs
Nina Urlichs is a painter, born in Nuremberg, Germany. After studying fashion design and visual arts in Paris and Hamburg, she has been developing her drawings with black pigments since 2002. Her research on transparencies leads her to materials like PVC and fabrics, allowing for an optical play between shadows and lights.
At major exhibitions such as the Schwabach Art Museum, Mac Paris, and ArtVilnius, she presents her large installations in fabrics and papers, which for the artist is a way to question the body and space.
Her career and art are marked by travels. She has participated in art residencies at 59Rivoli Paris, at the Nonguyen Chengdou art center in China in 2015, and at Castagnopit / Tuscany in 2021, in an immersion of international artists. These human encounters inspire her work and evolve her current pieces; through the observation of our characters and our lives, she depicts our emotions, anxieties, and joys. Currently, she is pursuing two new series "Deep Blue" and "Ferns" on a confluence between Man and nature.
Two catalogs on her work between 2015 – 2018 and 2019 - 2024 have been recently published, and in collaboration with the Carnet d'Or publishing, she has published two poetic notebooks "The Woman from NY" and "The Lost Islands". She is preparing a new catalog for 2025 as well as two major exhibitions in Morocco and Germany.
