"When I was little, my paternal grandmother gave me a first series of photos representing her ancestors and ancestors. Then when she died, she transmitted many other old family photos, on my ancestors . I always loved them and kept carefully in a box with the hope one day, following an idea of a little girl, to put them under frame and to hang them all together on a wall. "
Some time ago, in full reflection on her painting and the themes she wanted to approach, Sabine Rusch wanted to seek to paint something that was close to her heart. Little by little, the crisis we are currently going through, has come to settle in everyone's daily life. Which led him to think of his ancestors by trying to compare life in their time and that of today. While imagining that for them too, life should not always be easy.
Existence and our origins, is a subject that has always passionate him. Where do we come from ? Why were we born under such skies, in such a place and at such a time rather than another? Sabine Rusch lets himself be inspired by her old photos and tries to transmit in her painting the image of the generations that preceded us.
This in order not to forget our roots but also to keep track of the existence of our ancestors, for future generations.
"While looking for other old family photos, I found a beautiful little old family photo of a Geisha. This photo inspired me to take my first Japanese painting" The @bay geisha ". It's a The subject of which I cannot be bored, I am very attracted by the Japanese style and combines this with my own way of painting, which gives a contrast between the old and the modern. "
