jean-pierre bru

The interest of Jean-Pierre Bru is naturally towards architectural heritage and more broadly on the representation of humans in a manufactured environment. Child of the 60s, period of pop art, new figuration and new realism, these movements influence its pictorial practice.
The influence of architecture
Jean-Pierre Bru practiced drawing and painting very young, initiated by his father amateur painter. Then in the professional context, he reproduced many architectural projects, which strongly influenced his pictorial practice.
He begins his artistic practice with watercolor, then confronts acrylic which becomes his favorite medium. He exhibited in the years 2010, at the local, regional and national level with in particular his participation in the National des Beaux-Arts show in 2015, 2016 then the Fall 2017 show in Paris.
Immortalize what the man's hand builds
The artistic practice of Jean-Pierre Bru is constantly evolving. His gaze, colorful and structured on the world around us, allows us to escape in its singular urban landscapes.
He also draws his inspiration from the works of Jacques Monory and Gérard Fromanger, but also in the world of comics through Hugo Pratt, Moebius and more recently of Enki Bilal. His activity as an art editor for ten years allowed him to collaborate with artists like: Mengelatte, Cénac, Castell, Schmidt or Blend.
