Izys

A self -taught artist, Izys is passionate about the work of watercolor. His works with random effects, nuances and degraded colors illustrate aquatic, forest and mountainous landscapes.
His love for watercolor
Izys, whose real name Isabelle Zyskind was born in 1965 and has lived in Paris since 1986.
Before making his art his job, Izys worked in the field of financial management. In 2007, the artist left her job to devote himself to his artistic practice: she installed her painting workshop in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, in which she now gives lessons.
Drawing and painting have always been part of his life, and more particularly watercolor. The artist particularly likes his random effects, nuances and gradients. Izys likes to observe the colors to fuse on moistened paper and mix slowly, or quickly.
Watercolor and ink of China, indomitable mediums
According to the artist, watercolor is a living material, which cannot be easily tamed and which is sort of magic and chance.
If watercolor is his favorite technique, China's ink is his "second love". The artist considers that ink is a kind of watercolor with increased effects, which is why she loves to experience it in his works.
Nordic landscapes at the heart of its achievements
The Nordic landscapes greatly inspire the painter Izys. The diffuse and subtle lights, the tones of blue and gray, the snowy landscapes, the mountains and the sea are its favorite subjects.
His works then seem to illustrate the atmospheric effects of these landscapes. The artist invites us to be one of those bluish horizons, and thus to travel to a dreamlike and singular universe.
