Charles Pasino

ITALO-AUVERGNATE, Charles Pasino was born in Nice.
Attracted by the drawing from a very young age, he exchanges his first drawings for marbles in the playground of the primary school. Later, he acquired the foundations of print techniques while assiduously attending the Drawing Academy of Villa Thiole, in Nice, and studies self -taught painting. He discovered mosaic in the 80s, a discipline he practiced, in parallel with engraving, for twenty years, in Nice, then in Paris.
"I learned a lot from Matisse, Modigliani, Ingres, Dürer or Picasso, and many others. My perception of painting has changed strongly with the practice of mosaic and engraving."
His painting is quite classically organized around “spots” of color that he seeks above all to grant, but the naked, especially the female nude, remains his predilection subject.
Pigning with oil or acrylic, it willingly enhance the funds of plant patterns, or sometimes works in flat color through which contrasting shades are shining. In his paintings, he sometimes admits with a touch of humor, see a slight irony. "In my work, I am quite serene, I believe, with sometimes a touch of humor or even a light irony."
He has carried out numerous personal and collective exhibitions in France but also in Italy, the United States and Germany.
