Cyrille Borgnet Dupont

The artist Cyrille Borgnet Dupont makes canvases from concrete, which makes his works unique and completely unpublished. It illustrates in particular trees and also produces abstract canvases.
Between trees and abstractions
Cyrille Borgnet Dupont illustrates through his works worked on the concrete of very varied trees. He works with great precision their trunk, branches and foliage.
Thus, each work presents a unique tree, staged on a monochrome, generally white background, accompanied by colorful geometric shapes. These monochrome rectangles and squares highlight the details of the tree represented.
In addition, the artist also tried abstraction. It uses a free, vaporous and light touch, as well as light and pastel colors.
Concrete at the heart of its achievements
Cyrille Borgnet offers a very special use of concrete. His work is developed around the treatment of materials that can be described as industrialists, urban (concrete, bitumen).
He uses them on a traditional support (the linen canvas on chassis) and in so -called "natural" compositions (landscapes). Of these apparent oppositions, he plays to mix matter and transparency, roughness and sophistication. In its very large formats, the mortar (or cement) is neither brushed nor smoothed, but mixed with colorful natural pigments, rust, gray green.
In his latest creations, urban landscapes, made of energy and thick matter, the artist lets the light of a rust sun explode and reveals vegetation nourished by hydrochloric acid. All his works, carried by the mortar, his strength, his relief, his resistance suggests the fault, the accident, the crack which come to open the eye and take the imagination.
