Nancy Collantine lives in Manchester and is a recipient of the Castlefield Gallery Award and finalist in the 2022 Beep Painting Prize. After completing an art foundation in 1990, Nancy worked in the creative sector for 25 years until 2016 when she went full time with her art practice. From 2020-22 she completed two years mentorship with the Turps Banana Correspondence Course 2020-22 and was a student of alternative art school, the Islingon Mill Art Academy.
It was whilst living in Australia from 2016-17 that Nan returned to her art practice and became immersed in Australian landscape painting, citing Nongirrna Marawili, Tony Tuckson, Brett Whiteley, Aida Tomescu and John Olsen as significant influences in her own work.
In 2024 Nancy exhibited in The Pearls and the Oyster at Birley Studios in Preston, The Cabinet of Fancy, with Terrace Gallery, The Canal Boat Contemporary and in September-October 2024 a duo exhibition 'Chasing the light and tracing the tides of Ynys Môn’ with Comme Ça Gallery. So far in 2025 she has been invited to take part in the Northern painting exhibition, A Bell is a Cup at Bloc Projects in Sheffield and is featured in a group show with Comme Ça Gallery opening 20 March - 13 May.
