Lives and Works: Paris, France

Barbara Petit Lisy is a painter, sculptor, illustrator, and author. Since childhood, writing and painting have been her preferred means of expressing herself freely and satisfying her quest for meaning and beauty. Having chosen to dedicate her life to art and thought, she trained in painting, literature, publishing, and cultural journalism.

Her interdisciplinary skills lead her to write regularly for the magazine "Pratique des Arts" and for the journal "Les cahiers André Derain". Invited by the Mango editions for her pedagogy, she has written "Le Pastel Facile", "L'Acrylique Facile", "Petit précis de pastel", and "Petit précis d'acrylique". Committed, she illustrated for LGBT individuals "Ton Album Arc-en-Ciel", the first birth album for same-sex families available in France. Her latest illustrated book, "Le Voyage d'Albina", is a tribute to her grandmother.

A member of various associations (Taylor, the Friends of André Derain, ArtCan, French plein air painters, and D'Anvers aux Abbesses), she is the recipient of numerous painting awards (maritime prize, figurative painting prize, etc.). Invited for residencies in Russia, Belarus, Spain, and Quebec, she regularly exhibits in France, Japan, China, and Russia.
