Malwina Chabocka explores the biological, emotional, and psychological aspects of being human. Her absorbing paintings delve into our experience of otherness and difference, as manifested through passions, needs, and feelings neglected due to social pressures.
Malwin graduated from Central Saint Martins in London and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland. Malwina experimented with fine art, graphic design, illustration, animation and writing before identifying her preferred language of expression and making painting her primary focus. With a strong interest in fetishism and masochism, areas explored in her academic theses, Malwin investigates ideas around the body, sex, and mental health. Her expressionistic paintings confirm the importance of empathy, tolerance, and acceptance in an increasingly divided world, embracing imperfection and vulnerability.
Malwina has authored two children's books and developed site-specific art events. She has worked as a graphic designer for short films and a scenographer for theatre and operative productions, including The Burial at Thebes opera at Shakespeare’s Globe in London and The Little Prince musical at the Musical Theatre ROMA in Warsaw. She has participated in solo and group shows throughout the UK, Portugal and Poland. Malwina currently lives and works in The Hague, Netherlands.
