Christophe Miralles is a Franco-Spanish artist, who lives and works between Burgundy and Casablanca, Morocco. He has received several artistic prizes throughout his career, such as the Azart Prize in 2005. His work has been the subject of numerous monographic exhibitions in France and abroad, which integrate several of his collections throughout the years. From his very first encounter with Morocco, one could already note new influences emerging between the two shores of the Mediterranean, which from then on never ceased to collide. Spanish paintings of the Golden Age undoubtedly revealed mastery in their relationship to light, which is something Christophe has continued to play with. The combination of simplified forms and subtle shades of color gives his paintings a timeless appearance where the material remains the central subject.
