Alison Bignon, through inclusions and intersections of assemblies, creates sequences of highlights in an order where the real and the imaginary coexist and intertwine. From arranged fragments emerges the least predictable, the most uncertain but also the most convincing conjugation that is never devoid of humor. Painting opens through figuration to unknown and displaced places. From these "staged" presentations emerge traces through the effective presence of bodies.

Through seemingly elementary gestures, the artist brings back to the essential to leave those who contemplate the works an open field for their freedom to wander. Alison Bignon blends poetic sophistication with minimalism, discretion with the boldness of interlacing, forms, and a few colors. Never any false pretenses, evasions, or pirouettes, but a subtle game of elevation to give life to the impalpable in a play of spacing and movement where light and muffled images, aerial and telluric, spring forth.
