Jacques Germain was a pupil of the modern academy, which Fernand Léger and Amédée Ozenfant lead. It was in 1931 that he left for Germany to join the Bauhaus school, of which he was the only Frenchman to integrate. He follows the teaching of Kandinsky. He returned to Paris in Bicyclette in July 1932.Destin turned upside down by the war, it was not until 1949, that he made his first personal exhibition in Paris. He also exhibits alongside ARP, Bryen, needrier, Hartung, Mathieu, Picabia, etc. It will be represented by many galleries, including the Maeght gallery in 1951. & nbsp; in 1997 a large retrospective was organized at the Cordeliers convent in Paris. Some of his works are in public collection, in the Museum of Oslo, the Museum of Fine Arts in Lille, the Museum of Bergen, the Museum of Bremen, the Lausanne Museum, National Museum of Modern Art of the City from Paris.
