Anil Mistry

Anil Mistry is a mixed-media artist based in Berkhamsted, United Kingdom. He combines his own photography, acrylic paints, spray paints, stencil patterns, old millimeter papers, and screen printing to create visually stunning mixed-media art. Having been interested in art and design since childhood, Anil began experimenting with typography, graphic design, and photography in his late teenage years, creating concert flyers by layering images using photocopiers, scissors, and glue. Later, software like Photoshop and Illustrator became his preferred tools for compositions, and he embarked on a commercial career in digital graphic design. With a desire to create physical art again, he has spent the last ten years defining an aesthetic and refining his skills to become a consummate contemporary artist. Anil's art is rich in detail, texture, and depth, showcasing stylistically unusual, incongruous, and often overlooked elements from urban landscapes, environments, and everyday objects that are pieced together into beautiful new landscapes. The oversized palms, which have now become his trademark, lend a Californian/Miami warmth and atmosphere to all his works, evoking a sense of escapism and joy in the viewer.
