Baroque Anarchist

An artist living in London, inspired by the Baroque era and the present, born during the Chernobyl disaster. He is fascinated by the search for immortality through science and art and explores the vulnerability and strength of the body. The background in Baroque painting and theater design influences bold, punk works that deal with contemporary themes. The aim is to revive the popularity of painting in reference to the Baroque period and create impactful, cathartic works. Influenced by fashion icons like McQueen and Westwood, he pushes the boundaries of painting to make it relevant. He has a BFA in painting, an MFA in stage/costume design from the Surikov Art Institute, and a degree in contemporary painting from CAI in Moscow (2012). He completed a PhD in theater design and designed 80 costumes for Hamlet at the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow. Moved to London in 2019 and continues to paint with oil on large canvases to break the fourth wall between art and viewer. Explores installation art, painting on clothing, and interactive performance for immersive experiences. Active engagement in the London art scene, last solo exhibition at Hampstead Art School in April 2023. Always striving to push boundaries and expand the artistic horizon for the coming years.
