The works of Sovann Kim were represented by the Catherine Putman gallery in Paris from 2005 to 2021, and were notably exhibited at international fairs such as ART BASEL, FIAC Paris, ARCO in Madrid, as well as at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nancy, and at the Triennale of Biella in Italy on a proposal by curator Jeremy Lewison.
Among public collections, his works have been acquired by the art libraries of Caen, La Rochelle, Amiens, La Roche-sur-Yon, Hennebont, and Axa Art.
Sovann Kim's work questions our environment and its discreet poetry. It relies on ordinary subjects around us: plants, food, minerals… Digital exploration allows him to read their structures, their textures, their "life line" as an architectural code. A digital dialogue is established to reveal the substance of the subject, its metamorphosis, even its decomposition.
The series "Elevations" explores the wealth of information from today's so-called "staff maps" or those from the 18th and 19th centuries, which are extremely precise and allow him to express through digital research his vision of the grand landscape and notably its complexity, while proposing new landscape territories with contours and structures close to a primitive imagination.
Thus, with the exception of editions on "blue carbon," the limited editions of Sovann Kim are original works in their own right, and not reproductions of originals.
