New & Noteworthy Artist

Pol Quadens was Belgium's very first designer in the 1980s and enjoyed worldwide success with a number of creations, including a CD rack that sold over 100,000 copies between 1987 and 2000. His success continued with the C06 chair, which has been exhibited and acquired by the most important collections such as the Design Museum of London - the Vitra design museum, Sir Norman Foster and many others. A man of materials, Pol experiments with many, including the fantastic Corian®, and in 2009 began a collaboration with La galerie du passage in Paris and Rainbow fine art in New York. Since then, his creations have been featured at the Mark Hotel in New York and in the best design collections. In 2010, he turned his attention to sculpture with the Corian® "birds" installed in the famous Samsara sculpture park, followed by the "Louise Doors" installed in the centre of Brussels and the stainless steel "16 Stones" commissioned by the Swiss sculpture park Château de Vullierens. Today, the Barbier Mueller collection has over 30 pieces by Pol dating back more than 15 years. His one-off creations and limited series are promoted by galleries, architects and interior designers at design and art fairs such as Pad Paris.
