The Renaissance redefined

Springing forth from the Dark Ages and bursting onto the scene in its intellectual glory, the Renaissance spanned from the 14th to the 16th Century and is defined as the “rebirth” of art and culture. Spreading across Western Europe, it gave a platform to great Masters such as Michelangelo, Botticelli, Caravaggio and Artemisia Gentileschi. In this collection, our artists revisit masterpieces by prolific figures of the Renaissance. Though some works are more abstract or distinctly Renaissance-like than others, the modern touch brought to centuries-old subjects and styles is the Renaissance redefined in its own right.

Diptychs & Triptychs

An artist's imagination can extend beyond a single support. These multi-paneled works are not exclusively religious and will allow you to dress up a wall in an original and sophisticated way. Diptychs and triptychs first appeared as altar pieces in Renaissance art. More recently, these "non-standard" formats were re-appropriated by artists such as Andy Warhol in his iconic "Marylin Diptych", or Mark Rothko with his monochrome diptychs in the Rothko Chapel. Discover our selection of works formatted as diptychs, triptychs and beyond!

What Collectors Have Their Eye On

Want to know what collectors are really after? Packed full of collector-coveted pieces ranging from painting to collage and prints, this collection features works in wishlists and sitting in baskets of curators, collectors, and art mavens alike (so don't wait if you spot something you love). Whether you're a fan of Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism or Minimalism, or simply keen to discover something new, this is your chance to think like a curator and peruse works collectors really have their eyes on. Keep your finger on the pulse The art world is constantly changing, and we’ve got our finger on the pulse to bring you the pieces that everyone is talking about. In the last decade or so, Scandinavian style has had a huge influence on everything from interior design to the art world, and this clean and minimal style can be observed in various pieces throughout the collection. Illustrative styles have also been rising in popularity, which means that you’ll also find bright and bold prints of subjects that range from human figures to colourful plants. For those just beginning their art journey as well as the most seasoned collectors, picking up a trending piece is a great way to add value to any collection. Browse our selection to find some of the most exciting artists practising today and discover the perfect piece for you. You can narrow down your search using our range of filters that allow you to specify the orientation, size and price. ## Artists to watch Using a unique blend of typography and light sculpture, Rebecca Mason is a contemporary British artist who has been making waves in the conceptual scene. Her neon words are contrasted against dark backgrounds and poetic text, making them both eye-catching and thought-provoking. Through her work, Mason makes commentaries on increasingly modern society and our responses to this in terms of love, money, and our relationships with each other. For those who are looking to get their hands on some photography, we recommend the work of Gina Soden, a British photographer who has gained recognition from prominent awards and institutions including the BBC. She takes an architectural approach to her work, exploring the interiors of derelict and abandoned buildings that are decaying yet beautiful. There’s a sense of melancholy running through these artworks that view the past through a nostalgic lens, placing emphasis on grand and opulent structures that have since lost their sheen. One of the major leading figures in the contemporary art scene, Bruce Mclean is an exciting artist who refuses to be limited to just one medium, creating everything from sculpture to prints. It’s easy to see why his work is so popular, as he takes a provocative and inquisitive approach to his subjects that makes his art visually appealing and conceptually engaging. Mclean is most famous for his abstract works that make use of bright colours and a variety of different techniques in a way that is avant-garde while retaining a wide appeal.
