Boris Davy

Born in France, in Angers, in 1976, Boris Davy is an almost self -taught painter. From his most childhood, he bathes in the world of hands that are busy, of a father craftsman hairdresser and a seamstress mother in the ready to wear luxury, where know-how and love Doing well go hand in hand. He begins very young by falling into the refuge of drawing but it was not until 2006 that he tried painting following a program on the artist Philippe Pasqua who marked him deeply. A real revelation. The painting then becomes his third lung. Later in 2010, he will train with a best worker from France for decorative painting which he will very quickly abandon for a more personal path which he feels the need to express. It is the human being who is at the heart of his art and his research. His works have an appearance that turns into the interior autopsy, to introspection. The models are reshaped, analyzed, fragmented, we enter their privacy, and their thoughts become ours in order to appropriate them. The movement, the energy comes in opposition to the apparent calm of the subjects. His distinct style of painting explores what is behind our physical envelope, a journey beyond appearances, spiritual, in tumults and interior conflicts. His oil technique allows him to leave separate traces with vigor and musicality that is clean, where pastel comes to mean and underline contradictory directions. Boris Davy seeks to highlight this humanity which is dear to him, putting forward, in these individuals, this little light at the bottom of an abyss, their fragility, their doubts in order to find the strength of indulgence, an act of reconciliation First from self to self and then from self to others.
