Laurence Moracchini

Laurence Moracchini lives and works in Vésinet in the Paris region. After years of figurative, she wanted to "let go". The abstraction which she calls "figuration-abstract" to define her work, allows her this freedom of creation.
Through her painting, she invites the spectator to walk in imaginary landscapes. Working by series, some are more abstract and more refined, others more figurative where everyone sees it as different evocations. She never gives titles to her paintings, just a reference, so that everyone is free to imagine what he wants: "Imagination is freedom".
Laurence Moracchini works with acrylic loaded with marble powder, an adjuvant that she appreciates for her dullness and the different material effects that he allows to obtain.
Generally (certainly in part in order to escape the anxiety of the white canvas) it begins its paintings with great black flat, drips, scratches ... then the colored layers are superimposed, very quickly: it is the hand that guides the mind.
My canvases are often unrecognizable from day to day. I keep track of the different stages, either by the visible, or by the perceived or the "repentant", and by the game of overlays is gradually born the balance of the canvas.
I do not "premeditate" my paintings, every morning when I enter my workshop, it is a new adventure that begins and in which I throw myself by favoring gestural energy.
