Born in 1981 in Poland, Dorota Jedrusik is a visual artist who experiments with drawing, painting, installation, ceramic sculpture and performance. She presents a wholly unique view of contemporary art based on infinite exploration. Drawn to the borders between the random and controlled, the subtle and overt, Dorota allows impulse and feeling to navigate her pencil, paintbrush and chisel.
Dorota Jedrusik’s Early Career and Style
Dorota graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland, Department of Ceramics in 2010. She has a diploma from the Design Studio of Artistic Ceramics and in the Ceramics Design Studio. After college, however, Dorota turned away from ceramics and to painting and drawing. Dorota has a particular interest in abstraction, innovation and novelty. Influenced by her fascination with alternative viewpoints, her works demonstrate a movement away from the ‘obvious’ and reality - a step towards the New and previously unsaid.
