Alain Castoriano is an established French painter based in the US whose works are what they appear to be: things of pure colour, shape and material. Crowded, colourful forms amass on his canvas, battling for space and demanding the viewers' attention.
Alain Castoriano’s Education and Early Career
Miami-based Alain Castoriano graduated from the prestigious Ecole National Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs in Paris – specialising in Visual Communication. For over two decades, Alain conceptualised and designed brand identities, brochures, magazines, books, and communication programs in France and the United States. Alain has received numerous national and international prizes and awards for his excellence as an art director.
Artistic Practice
He started his career as an artist in 2000, with his first solo exhibition in 2005 in Paris. Since then, he has devoted himself to his art, catching the eye of more and more collectors. Alain's abstract works stand out for their defiant blend of colour and shape. His pieces, to quote, are not "paintings" but more "things". His compositions are not "images" or fictitious realities; they are objects in their own right.
